April 15th, 2010 - Lionfish Awareness and Management Meeting with Local Dive Operators at Coral World Ocean Park
In an effort to promote awareness on the threats that the Lionfish invasion poses in the Virgin Islands, Coral World will host a meeting at 2:30pm in the Marine Gardens exhibit.
The goal is to further educate dive operators on the presence of this invasive species, the dangers it represents to our marine ecosystem and action plans developed by Fish and Wildlife. A public meeting will be scheduled for May - stay tuned for further details.

The Ocean Doctor's "50 Years - 50 States - 50 Speeches Expedition" is a journey of outreach, education, to bring at no charge a speech about the oceans to schools in all 50 U.S. states plus territories. Through his presentation Dr. Guggenheim shares firsthand accounts, stories, humor, passion, and important lessons about the oceans and their conservation.
April 24th, 2010 - Reef Fest - Hawks Nest St John

Reef Fest is designed to encourage the Virgin Islands community to make efforts to protect the territory's reefs and to bring awareness to the importance of all marine resources. Entertainment will include performances by local and student artists.
Reef Fest will also include a variety of interactive marine educational games and activities including: learning to snorkel, conducting a reef check, learning about fish ecology, reef kayaking, building a reef out of sand, exploring underwater coral trails and guided coastal walks. Some 20 environmental exhibits and activity booths will be presented by various government and community organizations. Local "green" vendors - food, drink and local crafts - will be on hand.
